Gardening at the Library Series
“Eight Common Flowers that Attract Beneficial Bugs” was Shirley's topic at Bloomington.
Our pilot program of inviting patrons for a "Learn and Talk" about gardening was a hit! Shirley kicked off the pilot project with a small group of people attending the first Gardening at the Library Series at the Bloomington library on June 13. One photo she is showing how geranium and mum plants help deter the Japanese Beetles. She also passed out Beneficial Bug Cards that she received from PJ Liesch of the University of Wisconsin Insect Diagnostic Lab along with handouts, which described more information on how to keep your garden organic and healthier.
