July

July 20th. is road trip to Prairie Du Chien
  • Crawford county master gardeners will be hosting us with 6:30 start time to tour their memorial gardens at St. Feriole Island.  Hopefully not flooded from the overflow of the Mississippi.
  • Come early and stay late to see all the happenings that evening at Prairie du Chien
  • There is a farmer's market at Lucky Park (just before the bridge to St. Feriole's Island where the Memorial Gardens are).  It is 4:00pm-7:00pm if you or any of your group wants to come early and do a little shopping.
  • There is also music on the island's riverfront on Thursday nights. So if anyone wants to stay after the tour, they can go and enjoy the music with a stroll along our riverfront.  One of our members, Mary Novey, tends to the Women's Civic Club garden at the riverfront.
  • Because of the music and the crowd we will not include that in our tour, it is outside of the Memorial Gardens.  But it might be something you would like to check out if you stay for the music.

With many of us not straying far from home these days the UW-Madison, Extension Horticulture Program felt curating good gardening content was a good idea. These talks were originally broadcasted on PBS Wisconsin. Enjoy!
